CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WOWK) — A well-known West Virginia pharmacy business will be shutting its doors this summer.
The Drug Emporium plans to shut down two branches in Charleston and one in Barboursville, with all closures set for this July.
Bob Petryszak, owner of Drug Emporium, verified with 12 News' Charleston affiliate, WOWK, on Wednesday that all three locations will be shutting down.
Discount Drug Store Chain Drug Emporium, which had its roots in Columbus, shut down its three pharmacy outlets in West Virginia during September 2024.
Petryszak stated at the time that the shutdown was attributed to exorbitant expenses. All prescription transfers from back then were moved to neighboring Walgreens outlets.
